Touring Around Dubai

There was soooo much construction in Dubai, including the newest world's tallest building (not pictured here).

We had a pleasant stay at our hotel, then took a taxi to the Ibn Battuta Mall. It was separated into six "areas" that all related to a specific exotic location and time period. We started out here in the China wing......

and had lunch in the India wing.

Here is a model of Dubai.

The afternoon was very pleasant. We shopped at a leisurely pace. There were no diaper changes, no frantic moments at the checkout counters, no rushed fitting room excursions--no children. We didn't have to worry about maneuvering our strollers. It was blissful!

We spent the entire afternoon strolling through the large mall, enjoying talking, laughing and trying on clothes. Thanks to my dear sister for spending such a wonderful time with me in Dubai--it was one of the best times in my entire life!

As far as a not life-changing event (like having children) I'd say it's at the top or close to it as far as most fun trips!
